The CatLink Profiler is an optimization option designed to greatly increase machine feed rates of INCON CAT I and CAT II control systems, while at the same time increasing accuracy of corners,obtaining better finish, reducing stress on motors/drives and extending cutting tool life. The option package consists of both a Processor board with hard disk and host-based software. The host software resides on a standard PC, meeting the following specifications: Pentium processor running at 200Mhz (minimum), 1.2Gb hard drive (or larger), 32Mb RAM, with Windows NT 4.0 (or above) operating system.
The CatLink Profiler utilizes a "look ahead" technology that allows the feed rates to be maximized on straight runs and minimized in corners. This acceleration-deceleration is what increases accurcy and finish, while decreasing the abuse on drives/motors and cutting tools. We also incorporate a tool table to insure that CatLink understands the characteristics of the cutter being used. The operator can select the corner "zing distance"; the distance from the corner at which the machine decelerates (if you prefer, CatLink will select this distance to optimize speed). We also interpret "angular threshold" to achieve outstanding finishes on arcs and outside corners. The CatLink host software permits the operator to "link" up to six files for sequential play.
