drive offsets 3:
Turn drives on. Go back to the POWERFEED screen and start a jog move in the axis to be checked. Go to the MISC FUNCTION/DISPLAY STATUS screen. Touch the ALL OFF button in lower left of screen, then touch the FE (following error) row under the VI (velocity indicator) at the top of the screen to show the following error. Turn the override pot to max; look at the following error (fourth line from the top), then look at VI (third line from top). If the machine is going 20 IPM, the following error should be .020 (use number in VI divided by 1000 in the following formula). If the following error is not correct, you can either change the VCMD number on the X, Y, OR Z AXIS PARAMETERS to get the right following error, or change the velocity adjustment in the drive. Check other two axes. To set new a VCMD number use the following formula.

NEW VCMD = [FOLLOWING ERROR/(IPM/1000)] X OLD VCMD

For example, if the Old VCMD was 5.00 and following error was .018 with the machine at 20 IPM, the new VCMD value to enter is,

NEW VCMD = [0.018/(20/1000)] X 5.00 = 0.018/0.020 X 5.00 = 4.50

Enter 4.50 in VCMD.
Go to the SYSTEM SETUP/COMMON PARAMETERS screen.
Turn the INTEGRATORS on (highlight touch field).
Go to the SYSTEM SETUP screen and touch the FILE button at bottom of screen, then touch the SAVE TO FILE button. When asked SAVE TO XXXXX? answer YES. Touch the O.E.M.CODE touch field in the bottom left corner of the screen.
